Best 2 Line Cordless Phone 2010
Cordless Phone Comparison

To our great surprise the best 2 line cordless phone in 2010 doesn't carry a Panasonic badge. Panasonic has several contenders in the hunt, but none deserves the title of best cordless phone. The two best cordless 2 line phones are a Uniden and a VTech phone. Despite being two of the cheapest options they continue to score impressive cordless phone reviews.

Uniden DECT4096 Two Line Cordless Phone

Uniden 2 Line Cordless Phone

We almost overlooked the Uniden DECT4096. Uniden's first attempts at a DECT 6.0 2 line cordless phone was a shocker. The DECT4086 was hammered by reviewers. Reluctantly we checked out the DECT4096 and to our surprise we couldn't fault it.

Key Features

  • Expandable up to 10 handsets
  • Caller ID / Call waiting
  • Phonebook 100 name and number capacity
  • DECT 6.0 cordless phone
  • Corded cordless Phone
  • Base station power-fail protected
  • The Pros

  • Handsets come with a headset jack and belt clip.
  • Power-fail protection.
  • The Cons

It's easy to transfer single entries or the entire phonebook from base to handsets, but not quite as neat as a shared centralized phonebook that's always up-to-date across all handsets.

It would be even better phone if it was also a Bluetooth cordless phone like the Panasonic KX-TG9382T. Within a few years all two line cordless phones will have the ability to connect with Bluetooth headsets and download data from cell phones.

VTech DS6151 Two Line Cordless Phone

    Vtech 2 line cordless phone

VTech DS6151 is a straight-forward 2 line cordless phone with few bells and whistles. It works well, sounds good and has excellent range. Above all it's simple and easy to use. Unlike most of the alternatives it features a centralized phonebook so there is no need to synchronize or manually update each handset.

    Key Features

  • Expandable up to 12 handsets
  • Caller ID / Call waiting
  • Phonebook 50 name and number capacity
  • DECT 6.0 cordless phone
  • The Pros

  • Excellent user interface: simple and intuitive to use.
  • Phone book sharing across all handsets.
  • The Cons

No headset jack or belt clip.

    Summary

They are both two top rated cordless phones, but we have no hesitation in recommending the DECT4096 over the Vtech phone. It's loaded with features, but also straightforward and easy to use.

We would also award the Uniden cordless phone extra points for being a corded cordless phone. It's a feature that has always been appreciated by users of 2 line cordless phones.
