Best ATT Cordless Phone 2010
Cordless Phones Review

Which is the best ATT cordless phone in 2010? It's an easy decision as there are just two ATT home phone options to choose between. They are both good value and work well. The big difference between them is that one range is expandable and the other is a basic dual handset cordless phone.

AT&T CL82x09 Cordless Phone

The "x" in the model number denotes the number of handsets in the package: 2, 3, 4, 5. Up to twelve handsets can share a single phone jack.

ATT Cordless Phone

The Pros

Like all ATT phones the CL82x09 is competitively priced. It does all the basics and cannot be faulted in the areas of: range, battery life or voice clarity. It has a large easily read display and well separated big buttons.

Speed dial numbers, call history and phone book are shared across all handsets and hence always in synch without requiring manual intervention.

They are not the best cordless home phones and lack features that users increasingly expect in 2010.

The Cons

Surprisingly the AT&T CL82x09 handsets do not feature headset jacks and are not supplied with belt clips. On the other hand the speakerphones work well.

Whenever power is lost the phone's date and time settings are lost.

To answer calls users must press a button as well as lift a handset.

Overall this ATT telephone does well in reviews. It's a better than most of the alternatives at the same price point, but does not compete with the top rated cordless phones such as the Panasonic KX-TG644xT.

AT&T EL51209 Dual Handset Cordless Phone

It's one of the best cheap cordless phones, but not as good as the VTech CS6219-2. They are almost identical phones, except the VTech cordless phone is cheaper and expandable. They are both manufactured by VTech.

Summary

The latest ATT cordless phones occupy a middle ground. They are adequate, but neither the cheapest nor the best cordless phones. They continue to score impressive ratings because they are well made DECT 6.0 phones. They also the beneficiaries of a connection with a well regarded brand name.
