There is also a capability called Power Backup Operation - it enables a cordless phone system to run off the battery power of a charged handset.

The KX-TG6672B is the benchmark in this niche. There is nothing is even remotely close to it in term of features and performance.

Panasonic KX-TG1062M

The Panasonic KX-TG1062M corded cordless phone is hardly in the category of an old war horse.
