The K301 Big button cordless phone is one of the top selling Motorola cordless phones. It's a competitively priced DECT 6.0 phone that directly addresses the needs of a large group of people who are frustrated by many of the latest cordless phones. In particular they are not impressed by the trend towards smaller handsets, tiny buttons and increased complexity.

The best alternatives to the K301 Motorola cordless telephone are a pair of big button Uniden phones. One has a cordless phone answering machine and the other doesn't.

In most respects this Uniden phone corresponds feature for feature with the Motorola phone. However it has a few extras that to our mind justify the slightly higher price:

It has the same features as the EZi2996, plus

Digital phone answering system - no tapes required

Summary

Motorola cordless phones consistently get good reviews, but in our view the two Uniden cordless phones are better value for money. If anything the K301 is just a little too basic and it lacks the good looks of the Uniden phones.
