When comparing cordless phones one of the first things we check out are the batteries. If they have proprietary connectors or are wrapped in a pack we are always unimpressed. Most Panasonic cordless phone batteries are generic rechargeable NiMH AAA's. You can buy them anywhere and it doesn't matter if they have the Panasonic brand on them or not. Panasonic was one of the first cordless phone manufacturers to ditch proprietary battery packs. They were an excellent source of recurrent income, but also a source of frustration for consumers. As the batteries were specific to a make and model of phone, they could only be purchased from specialist retailers. They were also several times more expensive than generic options with standard connectors.
The latest Panasonic cordless telephones including the DECT 6.0 Plus range Fortunately DECT 6.0 phones don't draw as much power as older technologies, especially 5.8 GHz phones. Consequently it's uncommon to encounter complaints about batteries with the latest generation of phones. Over recent years the cost of cordless phones has fallen. If you've got an old 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz phone with dodgy batteries, it's probably poor economics to extend it's life. Instead spend your money on one of the latest DECT 6.0 Plus phones. If you do it's unlikely that you will need to buy cordless phone batteries for a long time and definitely not Panasonic cordless phone batteries.
