Still the Best Cordless Phones?

Sony cordless telephones were amongst the best ever made. Like millions of others we once owned an indestructible 900 MHz Sony cordless phone. We used it for years and only replaced it to get a phone with multiple handsets.

While we eventually replaced our Sony cordless phone, many didn't and still use them today. They can see no reason to replace a phone that works well even after ten years or more of faultless service. They were seriously well made phones.

Another reason why owners of Sony cordless telephones are reluctant to "upgrade" is that they can't find anything with better range. Nothing can beat a 900 MHz cordless phone for outstanding cordless phone range and that includes the latest DECT 6.0 cordless phones.

Big Buttons

Back in the 1990's when the 900 MHz cordless phone frequency was unchallenged, telephone handsets had generous proportions. They could be easily balanced between ear and shoulder and comfortably held for hours. They were also big button cordless phones. Blokes could use them without fear of pressing too many buttons or dialing wrong numbers.

The best big button phones are still 900 MHz cordless phones. They are becoming more difficult to find, as they are hunted down by nostalgic baby boomers and collectors of vintage - retro cordless phones.

Sony 2.4 GHz Cordless Phones

Before getting out of cordless phones to build Playstations and TV's, Sony released a line of 2.4 GHz phones. Sadly they were pretty ordinary and had the same issues as all other 2.4 phones. They were far from being the best Sony cordless telephones.

Japanese Technology

The Japanese have always made or at least designed the best cordless phones. Unfortunately it's unlikely that we will ever see a Sony DECT 6.0 cordless phone. Sony has left the field to Uniden and Panasonic. The good news is that Panasonic is obviously serious about phones and continues to set the benchmark for the best cordless telephones.
