Best Two Line Cordless Phone
Review the Top Rated Cordless Phones

DECT 6.0 technology rules. The best two line cordless phone is no longer a 5.8GHz Panasonic or Uniden phone. They have been superseded by a flood of DECT 6.0 cordless two line phones. It all began in early 2009 when Panasonic released the KX-TG9392T and caught it's competitors napping.

Uniden 2 Line Cordless Phones

Uniden 2 Line Cordless Phone

Uniden DECT4096

Uniden was one of the last companies to release a DECT 6.0 two line cordless phone. It's first attempt the DECT4086 was a shocker. It got the cordless phone reviews it deserved and was rapidly superseded.

The DECT4096 recovered the situation. It's a faultless two line corded cordless phone with all the latest features. It's also well designed and easy to use.

Overall the DECT4096 tops the cordless phones ratings in this niche with a Vtech phone close on it's heels.

Vtech 2 Line Cordless Phone

Vtech two line cordless phone

Vtech DS6151

Vtech is the company that manufacturers AT&T cordless phones. It released the first DECT 6.0 4 line cordless phone - the SB67118, and subsequently a two line cordless phone under the Vtech brand name.

The Vtech DS6151 is a competitive 2 line phone at a sharp price. It delivers the goods, but don't expect much in the way of bells-and-whistles. To keep the cost down Vtech even decided to omit headset jacks, which was a little surprising.

Vtech phones are some of the cheapest cordless phones, however they are not inferior and consistently score excellent ratings. They seldom offer the most advanced features, but deliver the basics at the lowest price point.

Panasonic 2 Line Cordless Phones

Panasonic 2 Line Cordless Phone

Panasonic KX-TG9392T

The KX-TG9392T was one of the first DECT 6.0 two line cordless phones. It's release was a bold move by Panasonic because at the time it dominated the 2 line phone niche with a tried and proven 5.8 GHz phone - the KX-TG6702B.

The market was more than ready for the new DECT 6.0 cordless phone. Features including a shared phone book, silent mode, light-up indicators to signal calls and messages, and the use of standard AAA rechargeable batteries differentiated it from earlier products.

It's also a corded cordless phone, which means that it's possible to make calls even during a power outage.

Panasonic KX-TG9382T

Panasonic two line cordless phone

Panasonic next released the first 2 line DECT 6.0 Bluetooth cordless phone - the KX-TG9382T. It enables users to download phonebooks from their cell phones and answer calls via a Bluetooth headset. Overall it's a sleek cordless phone packed with the latest features from Panasonic: silent mode, shared phonebooks ...

Philips Cordless Phones

Philips SE6591B/17

As Philips is a European company (the home of DECT) we had high hopes that the SE6591B/17 would be the benchmark for measuring the performance of DECT two line cordless phones. It was the benchmark in 2008, but Panasonic and now Uniden phones have now stolen the title. It's time for Philips to refresh it's product line.

The Rest

Other manufacturers of 2 line cordless phones include: AT&T (Vtech), GE, RCA and Siemens Gigaset.

DECT 6.0 Phones - the Future

DECT 6.0 technology is the standard that all manufacturers have now adopted. Consumers appreciate the extended cordless phone range, battery life, voice clarity and freedom from interference that result from it's use. All new cordless phones, whether one, two or four line phone systems will almost certainly be DECT 6.0 phones.
